Store Policies & Tips

TARGET
Below you’ll find the current 2010 Corporate Coupon Policy for ALL US Target Stores.
Print a hard copy of the policy and keep it with you while shopping with coupons at Target!
All Target stores should be following the same coupon policy. The next time you have an issue using coupons just call corporate at (800) 440-0680 while you’re still in the store. Their Guest Relations Team will help assist with any questions about coupons.”

Please be sure you print the whole policy including the Target Guest Relations phone number and keep it with you, so that if there is any question in validity the cashier or managers can call the 800 number.
Target Corporate Coupon Policy

Coupons are a great way to save even more when shopping with us, and it’s easy to use them at our stores.

• Target accepts one manufacturer coupon and one Target coupon for the same item (unless prohibited)
• Super Target coupons can be used in any Target store if the store carries the item
• We gladly accept valid Internet coupons

Because of the variety of coupons available to our guests, we do have some guidelines for how coupons can be redeemed at Target.

When accepting coupons, we use the following guidelines:

• We accept two kinds of coupons: Target-issued coupons and manufacturer-issued.
• We’ll accept one Target coupon and one manufacturer coupon for the same item, unless either coupon prohibits it.
• Coupon amount may be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied.
• We can’t give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item.
• We can’t accept coupons from other retailers, or coupons for products not carried in our stores.
• All valid coupons should be presented to the cashier while you’re checking out.

WALMART COUPON POLICY

Wal-Mart accepts the following types of coupons (see guidelines below):

•Manufacturer coupons (Cents Off)
•Free merchandise (or manufacturer’s Buy-One-Get-One-Free) coupons
•Store coupons
•Pharmacy (Advertising and Promotional) coupons
•Internet coupons
•Soft drink container caps
The following are guidelines and limits:

•Wal-Mart only accepts coupons for merchandise we sell and only when presented at the time of purchase.
•Coupons should have an expiration date and be presented within the valid dates. Wal-Mart will not accept expired coupons.
•Internet coupons should be legible and say “Manufacturer Coupon.” There should be a valid remit address for the manufacturer and a scannable bar code.
•Only one coupon per item is permitted.
•Use of 40 or more coupons per transaction will require approval by Customer Service Manager. (I know it is a good trip when I need approval, most of the CS managers know me!)

PRICE MATCHING POLICY

Our goal is always to be the low price leader in every community where we operate. Our customers trust us to have every day low prices ... there's no need for "special sales."

Our unbeatable promise:
Store managers make the final decision in always taking care of our customers, but we do have guidelines for matching our competition.

•We do honor "Preferred Shopping Card" advertised prices. Must be like items, be advertised and require a competitor's shopping card, for the discount to apply.
•We do not honor advertisements that require a purchase in order to receive the advertised price or free product.
•We do not honor "Buy One / Get One Free" advertisements.
•We do not honor double or triple coupons or percent off advertisements.
•We do not honor other retailers' "Misprinted" advertised prices.
•We do not honor Internet Pricing.
•We do not honor competitor advertisements from outside of the store's or Club's local trade territory.

I do a lot of my shopping at Walmart. My best advice is to get to know you cashiers and who will be you "Go To". Each Walmart may handle price matching differently, the Warrenton, Missouri Store now requires you to show the ad for all price matching! Warrenton will not price match Aldi's or Shop N Save.  The key to price matching and saving the most money is organization. I use a excel spread sheet for my shopping list and it notes where my comp ad is and at what price. When I checkout I place all the items that I am price matching at the end and use a stick to separate the items. It is not unusual for me to price match 10-20 items. I also try to put all my BOGO items or Free items together so that it is easier to find them on the receipt. This paired with my coupons can provide a significant savings.

Walgreens accepts one Manufacturer and One Walgreens Coupon per item sold. If you want to use a Register Reward in addition to these coupons you will need to find a inexpensive "filler" item to even out your Manufacturer ratio. Walgreens is a great place to make money on your purchase. By combining all your coupons with RR's you can actually make a profit. Be sure to follow my Blog for all the latest money makers :-)

Register Rewards (RR)
Register Rewards (RR) are coupons from the Catalina machine that print after you make a qualifying purchase. Most RRs are "On Your Next Order" (OYNO) which can be used like cash on your next order. (Sometimes you may receive a Catalina for $ off a particular item or an advertisement for an rr deal.)

How can I get RR?
Buy the items advertised to receive RR. Using coupons on these items should not affect whether your RR prints.

If you complete more than one register rewards deal in one transaction, one reward for each different RR deal should print. You will not receive more than one RR for the same deal.

If you purchased the right items and didn't get RR, you can return the items on the spot or call the catalina company @ 888-322-3814. Have your receipt in front of you, they need some info from it, and they'll be able to see if the machine was working and if you bought the right products. It does tend to take a few minutes for the call, and then you have to wait to get the RR, which takes 6 - 8 weeks.

How can I use RR

You can use your RR like cash on your next purchase. but there are exceptions.

Most RR's explicitly say that they can not be used on tobacco, alcohol, tax, lottery tickets, money orders, stamps, dairy, or any gift cards or pre-paid cards.

As stated in the fine print, you cannot use more RRs and manufacturer coupons than number of items you are buying. As long as you are buying as many items as you have RR & manufacturer coupons, you should be able to use more than one RR. Store coupons do not affect how many manufacturer and RR's you can use.

You cannot "roll" RR's into the same deal. For example, if you use an RR from Energizer to purchase more Energizer items, you will NOT get another RR. The best way to "roll" is to use your Energizer RR to complete a different RR deal. You can then use the RRs from the 2nd deal, to purchase more Energizer Products.

Rain Checks
Walgreens does issues rain checks! Rain checks are good for in-store purchases only and valid for 30 days. In some instances, a store employee may authorize the substitution of a similar item of the same brand at the advertised price. This is great when they have a sale and are out of an item that you really wanted. This is also a good chance to ask them to special order if you want to purchase a larger quantity
